Bring a lunch, have a picnic, or buy concessions!

Eat to the Beat features, singers, musicians, storytellers and more all through musical performances near the Jewett Park pavilion/playground area - Wednesdays, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM, running July 9 through August 20.

Eleven evenings of FREE Music in the Parks are scheduled as Summer Samplers return on Sundays from 5-6:30 PM, June 15 thorough August 24.

Chicago Bears Pre-Season Trip - Thursday, August 21, grades 6-8

Come witness the Monsters of the Midway as they roll over the San Francisco 49ers in this pre-season game.  Each middle schooler must be accompanied by a parent.  Registration price includes a $65 ticket and bus transportation from Jewett Park Community Center.  The bus will depart at 4:00pm for a 7:00pm kickoff.  Activity #152522-01, cost $93 per person.

Auditions for Family Theater's production of Bye Bye Birdie

All auditions are at Jewett Park Community Center, 836 Jewett Park Drive.  All potential cast members must provide their own sheet music and come prepared to sing 16 bars of your favorite song.  Please wear appropriate dance/movement attire and shoes.
August 20 & 21 - Adults and High School Students open to everyone beginning at 6:30pm
August 23 - Grades 4-5 at 9:30am; Grades 6-8 at 1:00pm.  These auditions are open only to those who reside within Deerfield Park District boundaries or attend school in Deerfield)

Trips and Events offered for adults 50 and up

Deerfield Park District offers a huge selection of special events, trips and classes for adults 50 years of age and up. Some exercise, art, ceramics and other programs are offered at the Jewett Park Community Center. The majority of special events, trips and programs are offered at (or through) the Patty Turner Senior Center. PTSC is a joint program of the Village of Deerfield and the Deerfield Park District. Moonlight Golf - for adults 21 and up

Moonlight Golf (900kb, PDF file) returns for the 18th year at Deerfield Golf Club on Friday, September 12, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This great event, sponsored by the Deerfield Park Foundation, includes 5 holes of golf (with 3 clubs and a putter). Teams are made up of up to six players. Dinner, golf, contests, prizes, beverages and desserts are included. Event features a silent auction, raffles and more. Community Services Day 2008 - Sat., September 6, 12-4 p.m.  RAIN or SHINE at Brickyards Park /Patty Turner Senior Center, 375 Elm, Deerfield (not Sept. 20 as appeared previously). Community Services Day is a FREE event featuring: • Inflatable rides for children • DJ for teens • Helicopter landing/visit/takeoff (weather/schedule dependent) • Demos and information • Balloon twisters and other entertainment • “Touch a Truck” • NEW! Craft Activity Tent and more! NOTE: a 9-11 AM Car Seat Safety Check takes place at the Public Works building across the parking lot from the Patty Turner Senior Center. Mudfest 2008 - Sunday, September 14

Calling all high school students!  Get your team of 8 to 10 friends together and come compete in the annual MUDFEST at Jewett Park.  Co-sponsored by the Deerfield Police Department, events will include team competition in tug-o-war, mud volleyball and a pie eating contest.  For more information or questions, please call Jerry Zacher at 847-945-3120 or Linda Anderson at 847-572-2615.

Halloween Hoopla is a very successful and long-standing collaboration involving the Deerfield Park District, the Patty Turner Senior Center and other community organizations such as the Optimists Club, Deerfield Park Foundation, and many local businesses. The Halloween Hoopla contributors
are generous with money, gifts-in-kind, and good old-fashioned hard work so that the residents of Deerfield can come and have a great time.
Once again, we are pleased to bring you Deerfield’s own Halloween Hoopla extravaganza! In addition to a Middle School Dance on October 17 at Shepard Middle School, in Deerfield, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., the following are set up for the whole community to enjoy!

Sat., Oct. 25 3-6 pm Outdoor & indoor games, entertainment at Jewett Park and DJ at JPCC

Take a walk on the wild side through our eerily-thrilling Haunted House, with “residents” waiting to scare the daylights out of you). Food and beverages are available. A disc jockey and our popular community bonfire will add to the enjoyment of another great Halloween celebration at Jewett Park, in Deerfield.

DAYTIME Fun and Games
Halloween Hoopla is the special event of choice for many residents. With entertainment, balloon dudes, indoor and outdoor games, hay rides, and plenty of food for sale, it’s awfully hard not to have a great time.

A walk through our “kids’” haunted house with the lights on will entertain all ages! Plan on bringing the entire family since we have something to appeal to just about everyone.

Haunted Maze Middle School Trip - Friday, October 31

Are you brave enough to join your friends at Richardson Farms in Spring Grove for the World's Largest Haunted Corn Maze on Halloween Night?  There will be ghosts and goblins galore, along with other ghoulish frights to startle and scare you as you walk through this 18-acre corn maze.  Dress for the weather.  We will leave Jewett Park Community Center at 5:00pm and stop for dinner along the way.  Trip will return by 11:00pm.  Activity #152521-01, Cost $35/person (includes dinner).

PARADE OF Haunted Homes CONTEST

SIGN UP NOW and enter your own HAUNTED HOME in Deerfield Park District's 2nd Haunted Home Contest. Judging Night is set for Sunday, October 19, 2008 – from dusk until 10 p.m. Winners are announced at Halloween Hoopla - Oct. 25, 8 p.m. (Haunted Homes must be within the Deerfield Park District boundaries.) So get working on your scary decorations and music; life-like or live action; lighting and other effects and join in the fun (and celebrity) of this special event. (A Deerfield Park District panel of professional “Spooky Specialists” will serve as judges.)

The Tinman Triathlon, designed for both the novice and experienced tri athlete, and all ages was held Saturday, June 14, 2008 and sponsored by the COHO Swim Club. This annual event takes place at Deerspring Pool/Park and the surrounding neighborhood. We hope you'll join us in 2009!
