We’ve Moved!

Our Program has grown by leaps and bounds! We outgrew our Northbrook space and are now proud to call the Deerfield Park District home. Not only do you benefit from the wonderful facility the Park District has to offer, but the registration process is so easy! Any questions about our program can be answered by calling Energy directly at 847-581-1031. Classes are open to all communities.

Our Instructors

Our instructors have years of dancing and teaching experience. They are professional dancers who have trained at such prestigious dance schools as Gus Giordano, Lou Conte and Joel Hall. In addition, many are among our top requested performers from our DJ company. Teachers include, but are not limited to: Nisha, Ike, Geena, Cindy, and Jason.

Our Dance Show

We also feature a unique recital at the end of the year. An Energy DJ spins the music and along with fantastic lighting effects, a magical event occurs -- and your kids are the stars!

Class Attire

Students should wear comfortable, body forming clothing. No baggy clothes permitted. Dance shoes or gym shoes recommended. Breakdancers should wear sweats or warm up pants, no shorts.

Class Descriptions

Hip-Hop – Activity # 352510

After much demand, our hip-hop program has expanded. Younger classes learn age-appropriate choreography amidst a fun party environment. Older classes focus on strengthening skills. It’s a blast!

Cheerleading/Poms – Activity # 152506

Look for registration in Fall 08 brochure!

Whether your child wants the basics or prepare for any future school involvement, this class sets them on the right path. Since both poms and cheerleading are derivatives of dance, these classes focus on how to incorporate dance into the correct pom and cheerleading routines. Excellent preparation for school tryouts!

Party Prep – Activity # 152511

Look for registration in Fall 08 brochure!

Many students in 6th and 7th grade are thrust into a whirlwind of weekend parties.  This class teaches many of the party dances and also simple dance moves.  Its a great way to get a head start.

Girls Dance Troupes – Activ. # 552512

Look for registration in Fall 08 brochure!

For the student who loves to get a crowd reaction, this is for you! Troupes perform at 4-6 venues throughout the year. Recent locations include: a Harlem Globetrotters Game, DePaul and Loyola Basketball games, Chicago Bulls, and several charities including Northwestern University’s Dance-a-thon for both Juvenile Diabetes and Pediatric AIDS. Troupes stress hip-hop and performance technique. Troupe is a full year commitment. Students who drop prior to January 1st, are entitled to a partial credit only if their spot is replaced with another student. Classes and performances are mandatory. Venues will be given out in September and any conflicts must be reported to the teacher. The Advanced Junior Varsity troupe is reserved for students who have a minimum of 2 years of Energy experience or are teacher recommended. The performance outfit is included. No audition necessary. Fee is for the entire year and includes a performance outfit. A $400 non-refundable deposit is required upon registration. The remaining balance is due by October 1, 2007. Troupe classes often run on days when there is no school in Deerfield. A letter finalizing all class dates will be sent out in September.
